my across the street neighbor, my graduation elbow partner, my new friend from walking down the street

They go by the names of Chad, Mandy, and Lisa.

A lot of of times I can be very random and I think to my benefit, I somehow gain new friends from my randomness. I was just walking down the street the other day and asked Lisa, the girl in front of me if it was awkward for her that someone was walking so closely behind her (aka me). She said no but I knew she felt awkward in some way, so I told her that I would have felt a little weird too; thus I ended up introducing myself and told her about my little coffee dilemma and how I was in a rush to get back to school for the musical. It turned out that she was heading back the same direction for the same reason. So there it was, I made a new friend named Lisa who is a freshmen, someone who likes running, and a very nice person. She said hello to me this morning and that caught me by surprise. It was a good surprise of course because I have the tendency to think that people usually forget me after I introduce myself to them because of how strange I come off as.

During the last graduation practice, Ms. Jones made us walk out the doors and we had to coordinate our walking with an elbow partner from the other aisle, and that's when I met Mandy. She was being quiet and giving short glances back and forth, so I introduced myself and told her that my name is Jane and it rhymes with rain (sometimes that works). We ended up talking about how she was new and how she moved here this year and really ended up liking Piedmont more than her old school in Berkeley. I had such an interesting time rambling about the experiences I had at Piedmont. Now, we are friends on Facebook and I actually do see her from time to time at school in between classes now and then.

Today, I was walking home at my own pace as usual when the boy who usually tries to walk faster than everybody, zoomed passed me again. I've always wanted to beat him, but was just never able to do so because the boy practically runs his way home. I wonder if he has a specific time to be home everyday because I am really getting sick of how he always tries to be Mr. Power Dash. Walking home should not be a race!!!! But he has made it a race. So it is on my (not) friend. But that's not the main point of this paragraph. The main point of this paragraph is that today, because I couldn't take it anymore, I asked the guy who was walking on my side if he had always walked the same way we all did and if he noticed the same problem in Mr. Power Dash. He answered yes and introduced himself to the name of Chad, and that he definitely has been noticing how fast this boy had been trying to walk past people for the past year. Aha, so it wasn't just me. I ended up making small talk with Chad and it turned out that Chad is my across the street neighbor. I honestly hadn't even realized how long it has been since Alvin last moved out. Chad apparently noticed that we were across the street neighbors for the past two years since he first moved here, and it had been me who had been oblivious this whole entire time. Well, the good news is that now I have someone to find help from if there's ever a robber in my house or if my house ever catches on fire or if some kind of disastrous event ever, ever happens unexpectedly. It's weird because I've never actually met any of my neighbors over the years just because I've never really found the time to (just like a lot of other things that I haven't found the right time to do in life).  But anyway, these are the three stories that I just wanted to remind myself, just in case I ever forget for some strange reason in the future.
