This morning, Vincent arrived at my house on time for once. While I asked him to color and decorate the inside of Calvin's birthday card, I worked on the entire script for the exciting 3rd annual Key Club Pageant (which is coming up on the 21st of January), all by myself. As planned, Vincent left to his practice SAT prep class after two hours of staying over. As soon as he left, I went straight to trying to understand the foreword of Brave New World more and worked on researching the 10 most interesting facts about Aldous Huxley's life times and works. I dug up quite a few interesting facts, like how he appeared on a cover for the Beatles once, and the same facts that every other classmate probably searched up on Wikipedia, like about how he used the drug LSD up until the last minute of his breath in his death bed. But either way, I was intrigued by some of the facts like how he did an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in 1940 and how he really liked seeing the coffee shops and drive-ins in the shape of hamburgers or doughnuts in Los Angeles.
In some strange way, Aldous Huxley's way of words reminds me of the philosophy of Andy Warhol, the famous painter and graphic artist that I admire very much. It could be that they both seem like brilliant men of literature.
I also went to Target and picked up a new brand of blueberry flakes cereal that I have never tried before, some milk, Target brand raisins, yogurt cups, a new earthy-looking flowery bowl for my cereal, thicker gray leggings for the freezing weather, and some other daily necessities. I think my dad bought a bag of potato chips for himself. It's Target-- the one place that you can easily walk in but reluctantly walk out.
Today, Jennifer and I tried all day to get Gandhi to load, so I could refer my video response guide to it and get ahead of the game before class starts tomorrow. But unfortunately I did not have the best of luck because I only got to catch a little bit of the slow loading today. Despite the lag, Jennifer and I enjoyed a few scoops of delicious French Vanilla and Coffee ice cream mixed, in this chilly weather in my warm and cozy room. On the other hand, I finished downloading all of the songs that Ms. Santos requested for the Special Ed talent show and put the USB in a plastic ziplock bag with a note of the ideas that Jennifer helped me come up with for the talent show. I cannot wait to give it to Ms. Santos! I keep my promises.
In between dinner time, I got to catch a few minutes of an old, but still hilarious episode of iCarly. In conclusion, Sunday now concludes on a good note.
