I had four hours of sleep last night for some reason. Insomnia....(I hear the song running through my head too). After school, my mom took me to the thrift store to return this one dress that didn't work out for me, and we exchanged it for a bunch of patterned fabric cloths. Then and there, my mom promised me that we will make floral skirts together in the summer. Yipee, time to shout with glee!
Later in the day, my mom's junior high school best friend visited. (This is a real good friend my mom has not seen for more than at least 20 years! She is also a friend that didn't even know that I existed... She is also the friend who said I didn't show any resemblance in my physical appearances to my parents...... She is also.... okay I'm done. But her non-reassuring words did not attack me because I have this protection that prohibits non-reassuring words from popping my mind bubbles. Do not think of the song Born This Way please. My brother used to call me the deformed monster, hence why he also used to label me as the baby that got picked up from the corner of Mickie D's or joked about me being the baby no one wanted, but got picked up not in, but behind the dumpster anyway). We went to Hometown Buffet for dinner. 1. First, I grabbed and dug into a slice of sweet, sweet pumpkin pie. 2. Next, I crumpled pieces of the oatmeal raisin cookie into the one spoon of vanilla ice cream that I put in the green bowl. 3. Then, I grabbed a plate of mixed greens, a side dish of mashed potatoes, and ate it together with my dipped soup crackers in the chicken gravy. 4. After, I decided to eat two ice cubes before filling my red cup with water. From there, I continued my other eats.
When my dad and her friend got up to get food, this is what my mom said: "Can you try to be normal for once?" I just looked at her.
When my mom got up and her friend was still at the table, my dad asked, "Why can't you be normal for once?"
So I just looked at him too.
Oh mother and father planned this... I just know it.
As a child, I've always wanted the cookies in the cookie jar, the cake in the fridge, the pies on the counter before the meat and vegetables on the plate. As a young adult now, I still hold the same mindset. The real kind of appetizers are the sweeter things on the menu, don't you think? This reverse routine just tends to work for eager beavers like me. But I suppose depending on my mood, it could be any way. I'm really not a Picky Mickey though. No judging!!
