Hello Sunday night, you have been treating me well. Tonight, I watched Secret Millionaire, and it was the epitome of human goodness. I thought the first episode really defined what it actually means to give back to the community. I'm glad that there are quite the majority of humble, honest, and considerate millionaires out there, because I would like to continue to follow the surreal experiences of these giving people through the many inspirational episodes to come. Something to keep in mind is that sometimes when we have more than enough, it's a privilege, and that we should never hesitate to give back to those who need it more than we do.

On Friday night, I was literally up for 18 hours for the NHS Lucem Mixer-for the set up, dance itself, and clean up. The whole dance was the definition of what I call the average high school school dance, for people who like to grind on each other and dig through each other's hair. I remember someone stepping on my left pinky toe, and spending the majority of the rest of the night talking to security men, Mr. Vasques, and teachers of the campus about their college experiences, the food channel, and fast food nation discussions, outside away from the rest of the throng of wild tigers climbing on top of each other inside. The unexpected hangout with the teachers for the rest of the night was most definitely the better part of my Friday night. I know that I'd rather be at an art museum or making clay sculptures when I am thinking about being elsewhere other than being stuck at the average high school school dance, waiting to the very end for the clean up participation points. Don't get me wrong, because it wasn't completely terrible, but I see these average high school activities as just another one of those social things where I would rather not attend if I had the choice to choose. A band geek and nerd bird sometimes likes to stay a band geek and nerd bird.
But Saturday was a complete different story. Sherry suggested that we go watch Falling Overnight in downtown in the afternoon. So after school, I immediately changed into my sweater and shorts, and hopped into her car. It was the perfect sunny day to hang out in downtown, watch one of the beautifully shot movies from the annual Cinequest Film Festival, drink passion fruit tea lemonade from Starbucks, have dinner at Olive Garden with fun people, and buy shoes that were on sale.
After dinner, we caught the 9:35 pm show to Rango. Props to talking iguanas.
