This past week hadn't been my best due to some bickering conflicts between my parents and me. We had this ongoing silent treatment happening for awhile and I was just wondering when all of our childish acts would end as the week went by slowly. I was desperately hoping that we would just talk once it all ended. And we did just that today. Sometimes, the one simple way to resolve a big conflict is to be the bigger person, admit your guilty faults, and apologize. From there, things from downhill start rolling uphill again, alleviating the once tense atmosphere of a pitch black hole into a later discovered shining leeway of hope and faith. Through patience and time, things eventually turn out alright.
To clear my mind on Friday, I actually ended up going to the nearby tennis courts with Vincent after school and stayed there until night time. There, we just hit and talked. Tennis was just what I needed after a tough week. In my tennis theories, when I stand on the courts, I feel free and away from everything because it's just me and my opponent. It's kind of like running to me, when all I can do is focus on the road ahead of me. Just like that, when I'm rallying the ball back and forth, all I like to think about is how to hit with a better swing each time the fuzzy ball bounces back over. Then I like to run as fast as I can with all the energy in me to return the ball back to the other side. That's all it is. Nothing else. It's just me and the tennis ball against the world.
Yesterday night, we were lucky because we ran into Vincent's old tennis instructor, Mr. Bob, who is originally from Los Gatos. He told us that he now lives near Capitola, but drives down to San Jose three days a week just to hold tennis lessons at the park. When he is frustrated, he takes long walks down the beach until he lifts his burdens off his shoulders. Mr. Bob is this 52 old man who just wants to live life for the sake of happiness with no regrets, and both Vincent and I were able to see his sincerity towards his passionate career goals and dreams through his eyes and words. Past careers wise, he had his ups and downs being in the field of mechanics, but in the end, he chose to teach tennis in San Jose because "this is [his] kind of community" and he loves being around people who actually care about what they do. It was beyond nice knowing that there are still many, many great people out there who actually put the time out to give back to the community and live healthy lives in this beautiful city with deep appreciation and passionate willpower.
On the other hand, the weather has been so strange, but interesting, lately. Two weeks of sunshine really reminded me of how great it was again to live in California. But having the pouring rain again won't be such a terrible thing either. It's just that right when I thought it was about time to put away my knitted sweaters and hats, the weather called back and said not just yet.
Today, I went to Costco and bought delicious churros, a 24 pack of yogurt cups, and a box of honey graham crackers. Then I went to see No Strings Attached with Lin tonight. Oh my goodness, Ashton Kutcher, just marry me already. I remember how good looking I used to think he was in the early days of middle school. So anyway, after, I surprised Calvin while he was working at Levis, with his late birthday card, and continued my search for antique looking earrings elsewhere. I am currently in my earrings phase again for some reason. It's the fact that my ears don't get easily infected anymore, I tell you; so I decided to give my ears another chance. Overall, today I picked up some really adorable vintage looking earrings with Lin and I just can't wait to wear them. I know, I am such a girl.
I also picked up a flamingo pocket mirror at Forever 21. It was just my luck because I had been searching for a decent pocket mirror to carry around in my bag(s) for the longest time. Because if you knew me well, you'd know that my contacts almost always hurt in the middle of class at least one to two times everyday, and whenever I ask someone if he/she carried a mirror on him/her, I would always get a no for an answer. But aha, fear no more, Jane has finally bought herself a new pocket mirror.
For two nights in a row, I have been doing massive rearrangements around my room. Cleaning and rearranging items in my room are just the things that I do when I need to gather myself back together. Now, I will get back to this winter cleaning. Goodnight bloggers.
