full moon, full weekend

Friday: After countless hours of gathering the materials together and getting ready for the whole 3rd annual Key Club Pageant, it finally happened. The LTG of Key Club came and there was an amazing set of audience. I had so much fun spontaneously hosting it with Vincent because it was just as jumpy and entertaining as the first time around. Who would have known that Don would become the winner of the next Key Club Top Hero? I sure didn't, because he is not actually in Key Club at Piedmont Hills. But I'm glad we convinced him to participate in the pageant after all. After the show, Sherry drove me, Vincent, and Christine to Borders and I bought two things: 1) a Strawberry Fruitkula smoothie to quench my thirst from all that talking throughout the entire pageant without a single sip of water (because apparently kids these days just enjoy selling, drinking, and living off of soda) and 2) my Fast Food Nation book for Mr. Cava's class, so I could get ahead this sunny weekend and read before I have to answer those lengthy questions in class tomorrow. We also grabbed some juicy burgers and fries at In-N-Out on the way back to Sherry's house to watch part of The Back-up Plan. After Sherry dropped everyone off, she went back to my house and from there, we had a long talk about the future until it turned an hour after the beginning of Saturday.

Saturday: After school, my dad finally felt better from his food poisoning sickness, and took me to Target to get some needed supplies. Then I went home, changed quickly, and went straight to Cataldi Park to play needed tennis with Vincent. Now I haven't played some intense tennis since the last of summer. On the spacious courts, it was sort of like living up to the old times again--hitting freely, reminiscing the old days, sitting under the sun, and just hanging out. As free as it was, I knew that things were never going to be exactly the same way as they were before because ever since I sprained my wrist, it has been throbbing with minor pains here and there nonstop. Today, my right wrist is actually in a lot of pain and I am kind of starting to get worried. I mean just yesterday I was convinced that it was all better again, but today I am fooling no one. Be careful, everyone. Being safe is always the number one rule when out on exotic outdoor adventures. Like me, one unexpected fall kind of started canceling out on a lot of things that I could be and want to be doing as of now. Hopefully I will find a way to cure it the correct way again soon and see how things go from there.

Last night, I went to Irvington High School to see my good friend Anh perform at Ritmo Latino. Ritmo Latino was basically this whole production of Latino dances that were put together by students who are currently enrolled in the classes of Spanish 3 and above. It was just so amazing to be in a different environment for the night and capture the artistic essence of the wonderfully performed Latino dances. I was so fascinated by some of the styles from the costume wardrobe-- the sequined dresses, beaded tops, and floral wears really emphasized a light in a beautiful culture. Anh, I am so proud of you for working so hard for the past few months. You surely pulled off such an amazing show. I am so glad that you invited me because it was definitely worth every single minute.

After the show, Sherry took me and Vincent to Yogurt Twist and we just sat outside, and talked. We questioned Vincent about who he secretly admired at school and asked him to picture what his future significant other would be like. (It turned out that Vincent wanted a controlling girl. Yikes.) Back home, I changed into my Spongebob jammies, sipped on some green tea, and nibbled on some sweet and salty kettle corn that my mother purchased at the Farmer's Market from the morning of. Yesterday night was just all about living in the miraculous moments of life's simple pleasures.
