party with a purpose

It's the last weekend before the first semester ends and things just keep getting better and better. This past week initially started out rocky, but ended up smooth. Thanks to listening to old mix CDS, catching up on 90210 episodes, bonding with old friends, and spending time with the Special Ed kids, I eventually manged to keep myself organized and sane. Furthermore, I got to spend valuable time with Christine and Ben yesterday. It was just nice to hang out with people who I don't normally spend time with on a daily basis for once. As I listened to Ben talk about the wonderful college experiences he's had so far at UCLA, the whole idea of small dorm experiences, late night hangouts, diverse friends, interesting facts, meaningful classes, and friendly professors surely marked the epitome of his current and my future ideal college life.

As for today, our NHS group project was very meaningful because we all learned a little bit more about giving back to the community, building useful leadership skills, forming new friendship bonds, and making effective changes for the people in our community. Overall, it was just so nice to work with genuinely good people who carried the same goals as we did. I honestly can't wait to work with City Year again in the future.

Thank you for the perfect weather today, San Jose.
And have a Happy 18th Birthday, Christine. You are the best tennis partner anyone could ever ask for.
